Lawyer Help & Referral

Organization: Family Lawyers Assistance Project, called (FLAP)
E-Mail: Amanda Hines
Student Contact(s): Amanda Hines
Advisor: Ann Stanton
Description: FLAP provides assistance to individuals who are
representing themselves in family court matters
such as paternity, child support, divorce, and
custody.  Generally, individuals turn to FLAP
because they cannot afford to pay an attorney to
represent them, but they need some guidance as to
the procedures and law governing the family court
matter in which they are involved.  ASU law students
interview clients and gather their information before
passing them on to a volunteer attorney who will,
along with the student's help, advise the client.
Students assist in other ways as well, such as
helping clients complete court documents.  Students
are encouraged to volunteer at either location and
for any time increment that their and FLAP's
schedules permit.  FLAP is a wonderful project and
 welcomes your participation!
